PVPAEO has extensive experience designing custom optical systems to meet specific performance requirements.  Our optical design engineers utilize the latest analytical tools in developing lens prescriptions to ensure accurate and efficient configurations.  We provide both fixed focal length and zoom lenses for Visible and I2 cameras with and without motorized focus.  We also offer fixed lens and Dual FOV systems for NIR and MWIR sensors.

300" Focal Length, F/24 Shared Aperture MWIR/Visible System

Dual Field of View (DFOV) Lens

PVPAEO has successfully developed a new, fast switching DFOV lens for  MWIR cameras.  The FOV can be switched in less than 16.6 milliseconds making it ideal for precision tracking and surveillance systems.  The key performance characteristics of the system are summarized below.

  • Conductively base cooled MWIR Sensors (24 VDC power, NTSC Video Output, RS-232 control using software furnished with the camera)

  • F/4.0, 500 mm focal length refractive optical system, focused from 700 meters to infinity

  • F/4.0, 100 mm focal length, refractive optical system, focused from 100 meters to infinity

  • FOV switching in less than 16.6 milliseconds

  • Less than 1.0 milliradian repetitive boresight shift in wide FOV

  • Less than 0.05 milliradian repetitive boresight shift in narrow FOV (no moving parts in NFOV)

  • Optical droop less than respective FOV errors

  • 75 Ohm video connector

  • RS-422 controlled FOV switching with internal video timing board to select FOV switch between frames

  • O-ring sealed enclosure - outer environmental o-ring, inner emi o-ring

  • High gloss white paint IAW MIL-P-23377 and MIL-C-85285

  • Conductive EMI window with AR coating both sides, minimum transmission 90%

  • Mil-C-26482 connectors

  • Single 24 volt DC input <15 amps

  • Operating Temperature -10°C to +50°C, 0-100 percent humidity
